I'm on a roll.

And I'll even share more picture. Two posts in two days? May08_035_2 Whoa...slow down, Les.

Today was pretty uneventful. I woke up feeling like I had not slept. I almost crawled back into bed when Reyna laid down this morning. I think it must have been the overcast, cold and dreary day we had. I had dinner after work at my parents and now I am sitting here watching Dancing with the Stars. Do you watch? Who are you cheering on? I really like Christian and Jason Taylor. I hope to see Jason win.

Tomorrow, I am attending Day of Reflection (don't ask, I couldn't tell you) for work. It's actually at the Catholic Church in Concord. I could walk it's so close. That will be nice not commuting for a change. I have no idea how lonMay08_070g it's supposed to last. I am also working Wednesday, so that means I will be able to take off Friday. Yay-hoo.

The rest of the week we are laying low. I made it a point not to schedule much. Jade is leaving Saturday morning around 4 or 5 to drive to Canada where he will catch a plane and head to Alberta for a week. So, I will be single parenting it for a week. I guess it's alright. Kristin is coming for a visit Saturday, which I cannot wait for. I don't know what we'll do, but that's fine with me. Saturday night, we might scrap. I reallyMay08_039_2  need to order more pictures.

Oh, please do not ask why I am making this retarded face. I thought it was kind of funny so I decided to share. All of these pic's were taken at Urban Toddler last weekend. Better late than never, right?! Reyna had so much fun there. If you live in the Ann Arbor area, I would definitely recommend taking your tot there. I just wish it were a little closer. On a rare occasion,

May08_004 I see this.

I had to take this picture. Reyna RARELY sleeps in the car. Especially lately.

Happy Mother's Day.

Jade is leaving this Saturday for a week, so we decided to have a Mother's Day Weekend instead of just Mother's Day. :) Friday, I scrapped. I only accomplished two pages in a May08_103 five hour time span. How pathetic is that? I sat that and talked most of the evening. The two pages that I did accomplish I was pretty happy with.

Saturday, we were pretty lazy in the morning. I power cleaned the house and did a load or two of laundry. That afternoon, we headed to the zoo in Battle Creek. It's not a very big zoo, but they have Wild Africa where you can feed the giraffes from an observation deck. It's pretty neat to see the giraffes eye level. It was kind of a leisure trip. We weren't too worrieMay08_087d if we didn't see the entire zoo. After the zoo, we stopped by Target. I wanted a new hummingbird feeder. I found one that is purple hand blown glass. It's gorgeous. I filled it. So far, no birds. It might be a little bit May08_092 too early. I also broke down and bought these alphabet clear stamps for scrapbooking that I have had my eye on. I wanted to get them from Wal-Mart, as they were about 4 dollars cheaper. The day I went to purchase them, they were sold out. I was at Target and said what the heck. Holding off would have meant walking inMay08_082 to Wal-Mart again and we all know how much I adore Wal-Mart. :)

Today, we slept until 8. I was going to keep sleeping since Jade got up with Reyna, but I figured I was awake and might as well get out of bed. We headed to Meijer for a quick grocery shopping trip and then to my parents where we enjoyed a delish breakfast of: eggs, bacon, fresh fruit and biscuits and gravy. Everything was delicious. My parents (and Bobby) bought me a gorgeous pot or assorted flowers. I wanted pond plants for Mother's Day, so Jade, Bobby & I went to The Cardinal and the Koi and mom and dad took Reyna to see Aunt Sherry. So, it has been a great weekend. We are just laying around the house the rest of this rainy afternoon.

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend as much as I did.

BTW....I am challenging myself to post everyday this upcoming week. Please hold me to it.

Happy Cinco de Mayo

Over the weekend, we inherited a couple pieces of outdoor  play equipment. Reyna is in heaven. Our yard now looks like a daycare center. Good things it is somewhat large.

Saturday, I met Kristin in Ann Arbor. I have a ton of pictures on my camera. Hopefully, I will be sharing them later on tonight. Reyna had a blast at Urban Toddler. It is the perfect size place for little ones. And the store they have added on for moms is the best. I picked up a Melissa & Doug puzzle for Reyna and Aunt Kristin bought her a  ball which she absolutely adores. Sunday morning, she saw it on her floor when she woke up and immediately wanted to play.

We have another busy week. I am working a few extra hours on Thursday. Other than that, life is pretty much normal right now.

Coming up with titles is annoying.

I am blaming my lack of blogging on several things.

1. I haven't been feeling well this week. My allergies are in full swing. Luckily, it's starting to get better.

2. No one at the Collins' household has been sleeping well. Reyna has been getting up (except for last night) due to her little molars popping thru on the bottom. Poor babe!

3. I am just plan LAZY. I haven't had the ambition to plop myself down in front of the computer. Sitting on the couch with a controller in my hand is way better.

******

Anyway, enough excuses. It's funny because I was going to post on Monday on how the weekend went, but now I might as well post and let you all know what I am doing this upcoming weekend. Last weekend is definitely old news already.

Friday, Jade and I are going to a movie. Now, I cannot tell you the last time we went and saw a movie at the theatre. It's been forever! I think we are going to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall. It looks funny and he wasn't completely sold on seeing Made of Honor. I guess I'll be renting that one.

Saturday, I am heading over to Ann Arbor to spend the day with my cousin, Kristin. She hasn't seen Reyna lately, so we are meeting for lunch, shopping and playtime for Reyna. The last time I was at Urban Toddler, Reyna was itty bitty. This time, she should have fun.

Sunday, we have no plans. I need to get my pond going. I think I mentioned that last post too. Well, it has yet to be done. See, I told you I have been lazy. I did manage to buy some new landscaping bricks to put around it. Maybe that will motivate me a little.

Other news?

I took Reyna for her 15 months appt. last week. Let me just say, she has come to recognize the doctor's office. She played in the waiting room, they called her name and then all hell broke loose. She started crying when we entered the room. I undressed her, cuddled with her, they tried to weigh her and measure her and you would have thought they were pulling her teeth out. It was very dramatic. She is weighing in at 18 lbs. 10 oz. and is 30 inches long. That puts her into the 3% for weight and 50% for height. Too funny.

At fifteen months Reyna:

Sleeping well...except when she is cutting teeth

Eating everything. She is definitely not picky.

Loves to read. Her latest fave. Goodnight Gorilla. There isn't many words in this book. I have been making up parts and she giggles everytime we get to the part where all the animals in the zoo keepers room say, "good night." I just melt everytime I hear her giggling like that.

Saying lots of words. The biggest one right now is "uh-oh." Everything is "uh-oh." Today, I was carrying her in from outside and she kept saying, "uh-oh." I kind of just ignored her since I always hear it. Well, she had lost her shoe. It fell off in the back yard and that is why she kept saying it. I guess she was trying to tell me something.

Loves our cat still. I think the feelings are mutual most of the time.

Is becoming quite the daddy's girl. Last night, she cried when he handed her to me for bedtime. I handed her back and daddy had to do bedtime.

Loves to be outdoors. I don't think this chica is going to be girly girl at all. She could play outside all day.

Is having a ball with shapes and putting them in the right spot. Remember this? She loves it. My mom bought her one a while ago and she loves to put the shapes into the correct hole.

Well, I hope everyone else is having a good week. :)

Where.

Where...

is your cell phone? in my purse next to my bed.

is your significant other? At work...in Plymouth. Jade is everywhere these days with work. They are super busy!

is your hair? You wouldn't even want to see my  hair right now. It's everywhere. I'll leave it at that. Gotta love curly hair in the morning. :)

is your mother? She is at work.

is your father? Also, at work.

is one of your favorite things? standing right next to me playing with two plastic balls. :)

was your dream last night? I didn't sleep much last night. Reyna is teething, Jade ended up on the couch somehow. At 4 am, I realized he wasn't in bed. I found him on the couch. He had no clue how and when he ended up there. Usually he isn't a sleepwalker. And no, I didn't kick him out of bed. :)So, I don't know what I dreamed about last night.

can you get your favorite drink? Tim Horton's. Their coffee is delish!

are you right now? sitting at my computer chair.

is your ex? Detroit area. We haven't spoken in a long time.

is your fear? dying and not being able to raise my children.

do you want to be in 6 years? Probably living closer to our immediate family, another little one.

were you last night? Home

was the last place you drove? Over to my parents to pick Reyna up and drove home.

did you grow up? Born in the Detroit area, spent most of my childhood in Jackson.

was the last place you ate? Breakfast with Reyna in my kitchen. Toast, grapefruit and kiwi

is (are) your TV(s)? one in our family room, one in our bedroom.

are your pets? Nellie is passed out in the front sitting room and Kramer is on our bed sprawled out.

is your computer? on my desk.

is your mood? happy.

is your oldest friend? Right here. She is my cousin, but I would consider her my oldest friend. :) Can't wait to see her this weekend.

is your car? In my driveway.

is your wedding ring? In the bathroom on the counter. I take it off most nights. I can't stand to sleep with jewelry on.

is your favorite store? Target. The Gap would be a close runner up

is your favorite place to be in the summer? the beach

was the last place you laughed? This morning in the kitchen. I was messing around with Reyna and she was just laughing hysterically. It made me laugh, too.

was the last place you cried? I think at home. I cannot remember when though.

are five places you go on the internet on a regular basis?

For the love of a kitty.

Reyna_with_kitty Reyna_and_kitty

Little_diva

Reyna received this kitty from my Uncle David at Christmas. Ever since then, she has been in love with it. We don't usually take it out of her crib, but if we did, I bet she would carry it everywhere with her. I am anxious to scrap a page about Reyna and her cat.

The week is going by fast. I blinked and it's Thursday...I think. :) Yesterday, I drove to Detroit to pick up my Aunt and cousin. We had lunch with my brother and Uncle Dave @ Applebee's. Today, I am working and afterwards, we are taking the kiddos somewhere fun.

Last night, I was able to get a little yardwork done. I hate that I only have an hour here, a half hour there. I don't like stopping until it's all complete. I am itching to get my pond up and running, but I have not had the time to do it yet. Soon.

Did I change states?

I almost feel like I am in a different state. It's way too gorgeous here to be Michigan, right? I have always said that I wanted to live in that state where it's low to mid 70's year round, lots of sun and low humidity. It feels as if I am living in my "dream" state. Well, I hope this dream continues on...

  • Friday night, I started feeling better. I was so relieved to finally be feeling better.
  • Saturday, we continued on with our plans, despite the past couple of days and went to EastWood Towne Center to shop for Reyna here. I love the Children's Place for the simple fact that you can buy a pair of capris/shorts in a certain color and there are a ton of mix and match tops. Everything coordinates. It makes life that much easier. I think she ended up with four pairs of shoes, two pairs of shorts, two pairs of yoga/capri's, five tanks and about five shirts. She definitely made out like a bandit. She is pretty much set for summer. I am still searching for a swimsuit with a cover up, dress sandals, a pair of khaki capris' and that's it.
  • Sunday, I went to Church with Nicole. That was a lot of fun. We went to a Church that is very opposite of my good ol' Catholic one. It's always a welcome change. Afterwards, we met Ryan, Porter Jade & Reyna at the park for lunch and play. We were supposed to have Jade's cousins over that evening, but we switched it to next week. I am hoping the weather will continue on.....
  • My Aunt Gail and cousin Louie are flying in this Wednesday. I am anxious to spend the week with them.
  • Reyna is sleeping right now and I am impatiently paitiently waiting for my burger to thaw so I can throw together a pan of lasagna. It is my long day so I like to have something ready for Jade and Reyna to eat when he comes home.

I guess you could say I am a tad bit frustrated right now with a topic I have decided not to touch on. It's hard not to vent about it, but I have chosen for certain reasons to keep it quiet. I have come to the conclusion people are the way they are and it's easier to accept them for that instead of trying to change them or hope that they do make that change.

Wherever you are, I hope you are having gorgeous weather. It doesn't get any better than this.

April 18, 2008

So, the past few days have been seriously sucky. Thursday morning, I woke up with a sinus/migraine headache @ 4:30. I was convinced that it would go away, but no. I was wrong. So, after 36 hours of a headache and 24 hours of throwing up, I am on the road to recovery. I swear, I could never move away from my family and friends. I don't know what I would have done without them. Jade couldn't just leave work. He's busy. My parents helped out last night and today Reyna spent the afternoon with Aunt Em. She took her to the park and for ice-cream. I am feeling better now and that's all that matters.

Have a great weekend.

April 16, 2008

Yay for warm days....finally.

Albion_park It was so gorgeous today. Of course, we had to take advantage. Aunt Mollie accompanied us to the park today. Last week, Jade and I were out and about and we drove past this park near our house. I was excited to have something so fun close by. That is where we went today and I was very impressed. Reyna had such a blast. It was a big wooden structure shaped like castle. She climbed and climbed and climbed some more.

I wish I could say she was so wiped out she took a long afternoon nap, but I can't. She was up after an hour. I swear, she needs to learn how to take a solid nap. She was ready for bed @5.

The Hosmer clan came and spent a few hours with us today. Reyna had fun playing with her cousins. We played outside, blew bubbles, colored with sidewalk chalk {minus Reyna...she thought it looked like it needed to be test tasted!} and watched a movie. We have a lock on our toilet lid and today I thought I better unlock it because I didn't want Austin or Audrey to have problems getting it open and have an accident. It never occured to me that Reyna would even notice. We were all relaxing in the living room and I noticed Reyna went MIA. I found her splashing in the toilet (clean water. Thank God!) water. Oh, and my expensive hand cream was at the bottom of the bowl. That little stinker. She knew I was less than thrilled. She giggled and ran off. I tell ya.
