It was so gorgeous today. Of course, we had to take advantage. Aunt Mollie accompanied us to the park today. Last week, Jade and I were out and about and we drove past this park near our house. I was excited to have something so fun close by. That is where we went today and I was very impressed. Reyna had such a blast. It was a big wooden structure shaped like castle. She climbed and climbed and climbed some more.
I wish I could say she was so wiped out she took a long afternoon nap, but I can't. She was up after an hour. I swear, she needs to learn how to take a solid nap. She was ready for bed @5.
The Hosmer clan came and spent a few hours with us today. Reyna had fun playing with her cousins. We played outside, blew bubbles, colored with sidewalk chalk {minus Reyna...she thought it looked like it needed to be test tasted!} and watched a movie. We have a lock on our toilet lid and today I thought I better unlock it because I didn't want Austin or Audrey to have problems getting it open and have an accident. It never occured to me that Reyna would even notice. We were all relaxing in the living room and I noticed Reyna went MIA. I found her splashing in the toilet (clean water. Thank God!) water. Oh, and my expensive hand cream was at the bottom of the bowl. That little stinker. She knew I was less than thrilled. She giggled and ran off. I tell ya.
Still working on my pictures from Chicago. I guess it is taking longer than expected. For those of you who read my "post" yesterday that I started from my Chicago trip, it was not complete. I meant to hit the save as draft button. I guess I hit publish now. Oh, well. Thank you for pointing it out to me.
I have a ton of pictures to share from the last few weeks. I am thinking about it now and I don't even remember sharing Easter pictures.
I am such a slacker mom!
I snapped this Monday night. Reyna rarely falls asleep in the car anymore. Just when you think, "oohhh she's going to zonk out" she wakes herself up. She is definitely out of the ordinary.
So, we are finally going to have some "nice" weather here in Michigan. Thank God. I might take Reyna to the playground today. Last year at this time, she was immobile
and I remember thinking how fun it was going to be next {this} summer that she would be able to play.
So far, she has loved the outdoors. Jade said he took her out while I was in Chicago and she started crying when he brought her inside.
Our sidewalk to our front door is lined with limestone rocks. She loves to pick each rock up, examine it and hand it to you. I just bought her this raincoat last week. I couldn't pass it up. Now only if I could find some matching boots. She would have the complete ensamble.
This week is pretty laid back and low key. Thursday, we are heading over to Jade's grandparents for dinner. Grandpa is going to help Jade with the motor on our boat. He has a huge pole barn that is heated. Plus, his grandma is a superb cook. She couldn't make a bad meal if she tried.
I have been doing some spring cleaning. Last week, I made two piles. One to donate and one to sell. My next project I am going to tackle? Our front closet. I would be embarrased to even show you a picture. It's disgusting. Jade has felt the need to save every box from every pair of work boots he has owned. They are stacked in there. Plus, we have paint cans, Cd's, coats, hats, gloves, a wood shelf. You name it, we have it.
So, I took this picture the other day. I thought it would be fun to snap a picture of us. It isn't what I wanted, but whatever. Reyna isn't looking at the camera and my face is looking a little large.
Well, I guess I should get my lazy butt up and get going. I have errands to run, dishes to do, bathrooms to clean and a floor to mop. Oh, and a Chicago post to finish. :) I would also like to change my banner. I think that's going to be another day.
Another picture taken with me holding the camera. Once again, it wasn't exactly what I wanted.
The time change has really thrown us off. It's really been annoying. I am hoping we are back on track as of today.
We had a crazy busy weekend. As always. Some
times, I wished we would just stay home and do nothing.
*Friday, we went and had fish with my parents, Emilie and The Huff's. It was super delicious and completely busy. During Lent, a lot of the Catholic Churches around here do Friday night fish fry's. We look forward to it every year. Friday was packed. They annoucned that they had set a record for serving over a thousand people just that night!
Saturday, I went to a baby shower for a good friend from high school. That evening, we had dinner with some friends of ours.
Sunday, we all slept
in. Even Reyna. It was soo nice. Jade elected to go grocery shopping with Reyna and I. We ended up at Target instead of the grocery store. Mostly everything on our list we were able to pick up there. Plus, I found Reyna a chair. It's so stinkin' cute. I need to take a picture of her sitting in it. It looks like an overstuffed arm chair. It's khaki color. Plus, we picked up a few Easter things. That evening, Jade installed a new stainless sink in the kitchen. It made a huge difference. I love it.
These pictures were taken last week. It was chilly but sunny and I decided, "what the heck, we are getting out of the house." Reyna had a wonderful time riding around the block, honking her horn and pointing to every little thing. She notices everything. Everyday, she amazes me a little more.
I cannot believe how much she is saying. A few of her favorite words are:
kitty
doggy
apple
mommy
daddy
ball
fish
uh-oh (as she is purposely dropping something and looking at me like, "opps.") Silly little lady.
no.
hot. She went to touch my coffee one day and I said, "no no Reyna. Hot." Ever since, she has been saying, "hot."
beep beep. We will push her on her Dora scooter and she likes to say this.
There are many more. I just can't think right now. She is like a little parrott. We have definitely been watching what we say around her.
That's all for now. Happy Monday everyone.
My Gran (grandma) made the comment the other day that it's nice I have such wonderful friends on my blog. She's right. It was so sweet of all of you who commented, called or showed concern about Reyna last week. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
Reyna is back to her spunky and sassy self. Which, I am so grateful for. I will take her little attitude anyday over how she was last week. She gave us quite the scare. I had to take this picture, because this is a side of Reyna we NEVER see.
Our weekend went well. Too fast, as usual.
Friday....okay, what did we do Friday? Oh yeah...I scrapped in Chelsea with the gals. It was a ton of fun. I accomplished a few pages, bought some fun new products and had a chance to catch up with the girls. The crop ended at 12:00 and by the time we left, the roads were terrible. I didn't even know it was supposed to snow! I think I did about 40 on the expressway all the way back to J-town. I couldn't see a darn thing. Luckily, I found a car to trail behind. I was happy to be home.
Saturday, Jade woke up at the crack of dawn to go ice fishing. Reyna and I just hung out. After Jade came home, I went to a baby shower for a family friend. Afterwards, I headed to Meijer for groceries. What a nightmare. Does anyone have anything better to do on a Saturday afternoon than grocery shop? It was a madhouse. As always. Then again, I was one of "them."
Sunday, we slept in {8:00}, had a big breakfast and lounged around. I decided to go to Kohls and Target. Reyna had not left the house since she came home from the hospital, so I decided to take her. My parents met us there.
***********
We did watch a couple of movies over the weekend. Good Luck Chuck and another with Michelle Pheiffer called, I coul
d never be your woman or something. It was kind of goofy. We still have to watch American Gangster.
This is Reyna's fave thing to do right now. She *loves* the phone. She puts it up to her ear and says, "haalllooo." It's priceless.
Not much planned for the week. Just work. Wednesday, we are heading out to this restaurant about 40 minutes away from home. They have all you can eat prime rib and crab legs on Wednesdays. It's sooooo good. I can't wait. Last time I was there, I was about 8 1/2 months pregnant. I was at that stage where I had two bites of food
and felt full because I was already a stuffed sausage. So, I am anxious to go back.
